Three cute crochet cushions

My original plan was to make one crochet cushion, a blooming flower one for my bedroom. After making them for my mum and mum-in-law for Mother’s Day, I thought how nice one would look on my bed.

You can see my post about starting it and my colour inspiration here. Before finishing it, I decided to start a second cushion in the same colours as I was so in love with them. I took this on holiday to start. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one and was finished in no time at all. Here’s my post about it.

All the while, my original cushion was sat there feeling all lonely and neglected. If I’m honest, I’d kinda got bored of it and kept finding other projects to work on instead. I already had a third cushion all planned out in my head but guilt got the better of me and I put all my efforts into finishing the blooming thing. It really didn’t take that long once I’d set my mind to it.

For the back of it I used every colour from the front but in blocks of colour (less ends!) I finished it off with one row of petals.

Doesn’t it look lovely and plump?

So with this finally completed I felt quite justified in immediately starting the next one. It was to be a granny square cushion.

And it grew and grew quickly…

Before long, I’d finished. It’d make a lovely blanket if I kept going.

So, stitched around my cushion pad at an angle, here’s the finished article and I have to say I love it!

A very simple project that looks very effective. And with all 3 together, they look great.

Three very different cushions using the same colours, but I think it works. I have to say though, I prefer the two I didn’t originally plan on making! Don’t think I’ll be doing any more blooming flowers anytime soon. Now these are done, it’s time to focus on my Christmas gift making.

They do look so nice together. It amazes me that you manage to get through your projects so quickly with a little guy in the house. I was happy to be able to loom knit a couple of hats without too much interruption the other day. ;)Those blooming cushions really are beautiful.

Aw thank you! It’s not that quick really, I started the blooming flower in July!! Most of it gets done in the evenings when he’s tucked up in bed 😉

Well done! Looks amazing together! What great gift ideas too! I’m busy trying to work on gifts myself – a cushion or two might have to be chucked in my ‘to do list’ too ☺️
